Day 6 - calgary transit and unlimited transfer ride!
~sunny w/ cloudy periods, warm~
took the bus to work today...rode through the city centre and chinatown... doesn't take that long..45mins...bus costs only $2 and if you get a transfer, you have unlimited uses on it for 90mins... that means you can get off the bus, shop for a bit and then get back on! Whoa! TTC would never let you do that!
Kept working on the model...Dorothy took me out to lunch and Steve gave me the afternoon off, what a nice boss! Went to some chinese restaurant for lunch...mmm...chinese food... prices seemed to be similar to toronto... dorothy is really nice... she's a volunteer at eMi...she was an intern at eMi India last year and she just graduated from civil engineering, learned all about the chinese churches here in calgary... will go to her church this sunday... after lunch, dorothy drove me to the chinook centre... it's a pretty nice mall... it's like a markville/fairview ... felt so good at the mall... such a familiar place...felt right at home... I was getting so homesick but somehow, the mall made me feel more at ease... it's weird.. it's not like I'm a big mall person either... bought a pair of capris, a tshirt and watch at Old Navy and a pair of socks for May...weird girl has a thing for socks... will need to find out her address to give for her bday... not socks season anymore tho...Dorothy couldn't stay...so I took the bus back to Sandi&Dave's...didn't get lost...wasn't too complicated... it's like going from Hillcrest to my house
