Day 54 - Celebrating the birth of our country

I'm going camping today for the weekend with 3 great godly women. Everything had been all planned out but two of these women and it was so nice for me to just show up and go, not having to plan or prepare anything! Our campsite was just outside of Banff called Two Jack Lake. There were lots of people there and we got the last campsite, praise God! It took about 2 hours to set up camp. It was going to be a rainy weekend so we had to set up tarps to keep us dry. After setting up, we stepped back and looked at our creation. It was a pretty crazy set-up. We had tarps and ropes going everywhere so that we could go from tent to eating area without getting wet. It was pretty ingenius! And they say that girls can't do anything! We ate wraps for lunch and just lounged around talking, play cards and playing with one of the girl's dog. It aws quite nice to be out here in God's backyard. For dinner we had chicken and veggie skewers over the fire pit. After than we went for a walk. Our campsite is right next to the lake, surrounded by mountains. Everything was so beautiful and peaceful. The lake was perfect for canoeing, it was still and clear. I wanted to go canoeing, I haven't gone in so long. It was this type of setting that made me fall in love with canoeing. I wish my friends back home would like to go canoeing but I'm the only one.

This is such a great way to celebrate the beauty and uniqueness of Canada by being out here in God's creation. I really do love being Canadian. I'm so glad my parents decided to raise my sisters and I here.
