Day 30 - Our sinful nature
Didn't do much at work today, spent most of the morning doing emails and then worked on the Prayer Chapel in Haiti in the afternoon. I like my octagonal shape for the building but I don't think it'll work too well w/ the site.
After work I met up with Dot to go to Luke's house to watch Game 7. We had so much food there! 3 pizzas (where each one had at least 1.5 inch of toppings), chicken, wedges, chips, pop, krispy kreme and a cake! It was also Luke's birthday. Too bad the Flames didn't win though, they lost 2-1 to Tampa Bay. However, everyone was still celebrating on 17th Ave. We went there after the game, it was pretty! So many people on the street but also a lot of sin. People swearing and drinking and girls flashing everyone. Guys would just walk around asking any girl they see to lift their shirts and some girls actually did it. We're such a perverse generation. What's wrong with us? Everywhere you look these days are examples of how far we're strayed from God's holiness. Especially young people. Sometimes I feel so ashamed to still be considered a young person because it comes with so much bad stereotypes. But when I think about it some more, I'm no better than them. I might not drink or do drugs or commit crimes but in God's eyes, a sin is a sin, no matter how big or small. And sins for sure, I commit because I'm human. I'm not perfect and no matter what I do, I'll never come close to God's holiness. But thank God that I don't have to because of Jesus! YAY!
Anyways, we saw one incident on the streets that night. Don't know what happened. It was in a dark parking lot. I saw one guy getting cpr and one guy being arrested. I got back to the house at 12:30. I'm really glad that I'm living w/ Sandi and Dave instead of Steve and Barb. I have a lot more freedom and privacy here. I probably wouldn't be comfortable going out all the time if I lived w/ Steve and Barb cuz they'd probably be all parent-like on me. If I came home late, I might disturb them whereas at Sandi's, I have my own entrance and I live in the basement where I won't disturb anyone.
